Somer Surgit is an internationally acclaimed dancer who embodies musicality, elegance and creativity. He is recognized and respected for his clarity as a teacher and fluidity and impeccable technique has a dancer. In his teaching, Somer emphasizes core techniques and fundamentals in both close and open embrace, as well as individual expression and the deep connection between partners. His profound understanding of both technical and interpretive movement and his excellent interpersonal skills, allow him to convey the principals of tango, enabling his students to advance quickly and consistently. A versatile performer, Somer is accomplished in his interpretation of both traditional and new generation tango in a natural and genuine style. With his keen sensitivity to music and his ability to improvise, he creates richly nuanced choreographies with fluidity and elegance.
Cecilia Gonzalez, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Well respected by the tango community in Buenos Aires, she has taught and danced at numerous festivals around the world. Along the way she has partnered with some of the most famous tangueros of her generation: Osvaldo Zotto, Fabian Salas and Mariano 'Chicho' Frumboli, to name a few.
The technical precision,fluidity and elegance of her movements and notable capacity of improvisation characterize her dance.
Her complete knowledge and her passion for teaching makes her a very appreciated and requested tango teacher being invited regularly to give workshops in Europe and North America since 1996. She has taught in Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand,Indonesia,Malasya, Sinagpore, Canada and US.
Since its inception in 1999, she has been a member of the teaching faculty of the Argentine International Tango Congress (C.I.T.A) held annually in Buenos Aires.

Ney Melo and Ellinor Westrup are two of today's most talented young Argentine Tango dancers and teachers. They are known for their innovative teaching methods and passion for teaching. Their tango instruction is sought out by beginning and advanced dancers, as well as other teachers and choreographers from all over the world. The atmosphere in their classes is relaxed, personable and lively, and they place equal emphasis on the lady's role as the man's. Technique and the essence of tango, both fundamental to dancing well, are stressed in whatever step is being shown. They are dedicated to inspiring students to dance tango with feeling, musicality, cadencia, and connection - the way it is danced in Buenos Aires.
Since 2011, Ney and Ellinor have been touring the US and Europe; teaching at the Denver Tango Festival, the Bucharest Tango Festival, and the Zadar Festival in Croatia.

Marika Landry, Montreal, QC
Marika Landry has 25 years of dancing experience, of which thirteen in Argentine Tango. In 1998 she finished her studies in modern dance at the Dance School of Quebec and decided to dedicate herself to Argentine Tango. Her pedagogical skills, as well as her specialized women's technique workshops, have given her since 2003, an international acclaim. Based in Montreal, in 2008 she founded her own dance company under the name Karima Tango. She presented in 2009 her first creation called 'Milonga de mi Barrio'. Recognized as a dancer for her precision, fluidity and interpretive range, she is concerned for a relaxed postural balance and articulations freedom. She emphasizes feet's alignment for directional accuracy as well as attractive lines, poetic ornamentation and ease in complexity and rhythm. She is also passionate with heightening ones sensitivity to connection and the subtle transfer of cues between partners. With a strong belief that tango is the perfect way for women to express their femininity, Marika inspires sensuality and elegance.
Robin Thomas, New York, NY
A well-known and respected dancer and DJ, Robin's enthusiasm for Argentine tango can be seen most clearly in his wholehearted dedication to teaching. He believes that it is very important for students to dance simply and musically from the very beginning. Building that strong base of connection and musicality early, Robin believes, will allow even very new beginners to feel comfortable and confident on a crowded dance floor and will also lead to a more comprehensive and fluid understanding of more complicated techniques later on. Robin's teaching style reflects this philosophy, and his students appreciate the humorous but still down-to-earth way he presents the material.
Jenna Rohrbacher, Portland / New York
To Jenna, tango is an ongoing search for the complete. Balanced by complexity in movement and purity of sensation, her elegant dance embodies the traditional roles of Argentine tango and beyond. In teaching, Jenna encourages students to discover their individual connections to the music as well as focus on laying a foundation of solid technique upon which they can build their dance. Jenna has taught and performed for the last three years around the U.S. with several acclaimed dancers, as well as in Europe and Buenos Aires. In September 2010, Jenna wrote, produced, and directed Tango Extasis! for the Miracle Theater's La Luna Nueva festival in Portland, Oregon; the following month, she taught and performed at Portland Tango Fest. Jenna currently resides in New York.
Avik Basu, Ann Arbor, MI
Avik is driven by the belief that a little dance and music can make the world a better place. And so, he dances tango, DJs, plays bandoneon, organizes workshops, learns spanish, and will even drink mate despite the fact he otherwise avoids caffeine. Perhaps most of all, he enjoys sharing the beauty of tango with others. His instruction over the past few years has helped to develop the Ann Arbor tango community into one of the largest in North America.

Travis recently returned from a three month trip to Buenos Aires where he was featured as guest DJ at some of the most popular milongas in BA . As tango DJ his goal is to create a beautiful environment for dancing and to get you out of your seats and onto the dance floor. His passion for tango shows though in his Music and as DJ, he strives to build a wonderful energy with intense rhythmic melodies and romantic lyrical favorites. Currently, Travis is based in Buffalo, NY where he is a Tango teacher and DJ.
Berenice Gonsen, Toronto, ON
A long-time fan of all types of tango music, Berenice enthusiastically shares her profound love of tango melodies, positively affecting dancers with her inspired selections.
Since 2007, Berenice has been a guest DJ at the UofT Argentine Tango Club, Club Milonga, Alternatango, Milonga Argentina, Milonga Portena, Paradiso, City Dance Corps, and Practilonga in Toronto, & Tango Fabrika in Montreal.
In 2009 takes part as one of the house d.j.s at Milonga Sentimental till its closure. In July 2010 Domingo de Tango open with great success and she participates as House D.J. and one of the organizers till 2011.
At the ending of 2011 D.j.Bere was invited to participate as guest deejay at the opening of TalDion Charity Toronto Tango Social's, at the popular Argentinean place "El Almacen". Also, she has participated in special events like "El Congreso" 2009, "Faye's Ladies' Tango Weekend" and the "Toronto Tango Festival" in 2010 & 2011. Her first participation of the year 2012 was at the 1st Toronto Tango Marathon.
